Getting your Roof approved in 3 Steps

Step 1: Accepting our Complimentary Inspection

I. We do a thorough inspection, documenting the roof’s overall performance for the homeowner. We run a few weather-related tests, inspect roof penetrations and seals, the chimney’s structure, body and crown, and gutters to ensure they are funneling rain water accordingly. We also inspect the perimeter of the property to look for weather-related damage around windows, garages and fences. Inspections are done in a professional manner.

Step 2: If necessary: a roof claim.

I. If your roof is fine, then It’s Fine. We will provide plenty of support and evidence no matter the case. If all you need is a roof maintenance or a repair, we will suggest it, and if your roof shows proof of storm related damage along with signs of a loss in life and integrity, we will inform you upon what you will need in hand when ready to file a report.

Step 3: Call us with specifications of the date and time the adjuster will arrive.

I. We present ourselves with the best interest to get your roof and other structures approved for restoration under the approval process. We always show up ahead of time to take notes, measurements, and photos that will work in the adjuster’s favor.

FAQ’s

How much does a roof cost? What do I have to pay out of my pocket?

Your Deductible is all that comes out of pocket, unless the project specifications are changed by you or if costs for outsourced services requested change before the contract is executed. Ex: You want your house painted right after a roof replacement, but your insurance provider did not approve of such trade. Therefore this becomes an out-of-pocket expense.

What are some questions I should be asking when seeking a contractor?

Ask how many years their company has been in the market. Do they subcontract their labor? What are their labor and manufacturer warranties, aside from extended warranties? Are they local? List of references? Are they insured? What brand do they like to use? (Our Personal Top Three: GAF, Owens Corning, Certainteed). The answers you'd want to hear are that they are local, insured, with references, provide a 5-year labor warranty on roof claim replacements, preferably do no subcontracting for their roofing projects and have been in the market for at least 15 years.

I've had some complications with my insurance provider in the past regarding my roof. What are my options?

I would suggest getting a hold of us via phone call to schedule a time to personally meet to receive more clarity over your past situations. We can lay out your next best options based on what were the terms in the past claim and so forth.

Will my premium go up?

It might by default, whether you replace your roof or not. If there is heavy traffic of roof replacements going on your area, then everyone in the affected area is bound for an increase. But, there are those circumstances where you replace your old 20-year roof with a 35-year architectural shingle roof, and you potentially qualify for a lower premium for upgrading your roof. To qualify, you can simply call your insurance agent and request a reassessment now being that your roof is a lesser liability with higher durability. We can assist you with that afterwards.

What should I know about filing a claim?

A. Know that there are no penalties for filing a claim. Storm damage is classified under an "Act of God", therefore insurance companies cannot penalize their clients. B. Typically, you have a year from the date of loss to file a claim, and 6 months to fulfill your claim if it was approved, but the time limits vary based on who your provider is. C. Your utmost responsibility will be your deductible.

What are the steps on getting my roof approved?

i. Accept our complimentary inspection. We will educate you with information relevant to your roof’s condition ii. Call and file a claim. An adjuster from your insurance provider will be assigned to inspect your home for qualifying damage iii. Call us with specifications of the date and time the adjuster will arrive. We will represent your best interests upon the claim approval process

What if the claim is declined?

Requesting a second adjuster meeting would be the next best step. If roofs are being replaced in your area, high chances are that your adjuster could have missed the damage and documented only a small portion. Not requesting a second inspection can play against you in the years ahead since old hail damage does not qualify in their future assessments. Which this is why Step 1 is very important. It matters which contractor you have inspect your roof to let you know of its conditions. We will like to have the honor to take part in what we take seriously and do best. Honesty should be your demand. Honesty is our Guarantee.
